This article aims at studying the social hierarchy of gender reflected in the Brazilian parliament. A historical and political acknowledgement of gender inequality in the dynamics of labor relations, especially in the occupation of positions of greater social prestige, is fundamental for the understanding of the existing gender asymmetries in the postulation and occupation of representational positions. In this work, that will be an issue concerning the professional hierarchy through the element, as well as one of its origins: the female underrepresentation in legislative houses, taking as a starting point the Brazilian chamber of deputies.||Este artigo busca o estudo da hierarquização social de gêneros refletida no parlamento brasileiro. A constatação histórica da desigualdade de gênero na dinâmica das relações de trabalho, em especial na ocupação de cargos de maior prestígio social, é elemento fundamental para a compreensão das assimetrias de gênero existentes na postulação e ocupação de cargos de representação política. Neste trabalho, será analisada a problemática da hierarquização do trabalho através do elemento gênero, bem como uma de suas consequências: a sub-representação feminina em casas legislativas, com enfoque na Câmara dos Deputados.
