The present review goes through the book Abaré Baré: the priest who made things “fly”, from Giovani José da Silva, that investigates the jesuitical theater of José de Anchieta, revealing its aesthetics and pedagogical nuances. The study, divided into essay, scene-by-scene outline, and dramaturgy, analyzes historical documents and highlights the aesthetic and cultural value of the jesuitical theater, despite the critics of the expression of dominance, consolidating its artistic relevance in the history of the brazilian theater.||A presente resenha percorre o livro Abaré Bebé: o padre que fazia “avoar”, de Giovani José da Silva, que investiga o teatro jesuítico de José de Anchieta, revelando suas nuances estéticas e pedagógicas. O estudo, dividido em ensaio, escaleta de cenas e dramaturgia, analisa documentos históricos e destaca o valor estético e cultural do teatro jesuítico, a despeito das críticas de expressão de dominação, consolidando sua relevância artística na história do teatro brasileiro.
