The book proposes to solve the absence of a continental and comparative narrative of rock in Latin America that also incorporates the gender perspective. At the same time, it proposes to pay attention to the ways of processing and incorporating music that is in principle foreign, listened to and observed, generally, with distaste for the left and also for the conservative universe, sometimes with arguments converging with the previous ones. This project, naturally, requires thinking about the Brazilian scene, which reproduces several of the characteristics of the two Spanishspeaking founding scenes – the Mexican and the Argentine – and introduces crucial novelties, such as its internal dispute around, simply, the use of the electric guitar. In this sense, then, our book is proposed as a good history, complete, documented and critical. This work is the general introduction to the book, in which the general hypotheses that organized the research are presented.||El libro propone solucionar la ausencia de una narrativa continental y comparada del rock en América Latina que incorpore, además, la perspectiva de género. Al mismo tiempo, propone atender a los modos de procesar e incorporar una música en principio foránea, escuchada y observada, por lo general, con desagrado por las izquierdas y también por el universo conservador, a veces con argumentos convergentes con los anteriores. Este proyecto, naturalmente, exige pensar la escena brasileña, que reproduce varias de las características de las dos escenas fundadoras hispanoparlantes – la mexicana y la argentina – e introduce novedades cruciales, como su disputa interna en torno de, simplemente, el uso de la guitarra eléctrica. En este sentido, entonces, nuestro libro se propone como una buena historia, completa, documentada y crítica. Este trabajo es la introducción general al libro, en el que se presentan las hipótesis generales que organizaron la investigación.
