Resumo:
O artigo trata de recuperar os argumentos de Herbert Marcuse e Roberto Schwarz no que se refere à análise que os autores fazem sobre determinados grupos de teatro e tendências artísticas relacionadas. No caso de Marcuse, nosso foco recai sobre sua análise da chamada living art e do grupo Living Theater, com comentários breves sobre Antonin Artaud; por sua vez, no caso de Roberto Schwarz, recuperamos seu texto “Cultura e Política, 1964-1969” e sua análise sobre o Teatro Oficina, com algumas passagens sobre o Teatro de Arena. Aproveitamos a relação, ainda que curta, entre os grupos Living Theater e o Teatro Oficina, bem como o material e momento histórico-culturais compartilhados pelos grupos, como base para indicar aproximações também entre as leituras e as críticas de Marcuse e Schwarz direcionadas aos respectivos projetos artísticos. ||Abstract:
The article seeks to revisit the arguments of Herbert Marcuse and Roberto Schwarz with regard to their analysis of certain theater groups and related artistic trends. In the case of Marcuse, our focus is on his analysis of so-called living art and the Living Theater group, with brief comments on Antonin Artaud; in the case of Roberto Schwarz, we recover his text "Culture and Politics, 1964-1969" and his analysis of the Oficina Theater, with some passages on the Arena Theater. We take advantage of the relationship, albeit short, between the groups Living Theater and Teatro Oficina, as well as the material and historical-cultural moment shared by the groups, as a basis for indicating similarities also between Marcuse's and Schwarz's readings and criticism of the respective artistic projects.
