The text presents a reflection on the literary work Dois Meninos na Transamazônica, by the writer Margarida Ottoni (1973). The aim is to analyze the appropriation of a narrative that permeated state initiatives in the Amazon from the twentieth century, specifically about the idea of a national integration of the region. For its achievement, in the terms of Benjamin (2009), it was important to pursue the “residues” of history, with the consultation of various historical and literary sources. In this discussion, it was observed the proposition of an aesthetic in the context of a literary production about the Amazon.||O texto apresenta uma reflexão acerca da obra literária Dois Meninos na Transamazônica da escritora Margarida Ottoni (1973). O objetivo é analisar a apropriação de uma narrativa que permeou iniciativas estatais na Amazônia a partir do século XX, especificamente no que tange a ideia de uma integração nacional. Para sua consecução, nos termos de Benjamin (2009), foi importante perseguir os “resíduos” da história, com a consulta a diversas fontes históricas e literárias. Nessa discussão, observou-se a proposição de uma estética no contexto de uma produção literária sobre a Amazônia.
