Resumo: A diaconia da Igreja ganha visibilidade no diácono, sinal sacramental do Cristo Servo e expressão da Igreja Servidora. Este trabalho, refletindo sobre a missão do diácono permanente como servidor da mesa da Palavra de Deus, pretende apresentar a “teologia da mesa da Palavra”, a partir do munus docendiconfiado ao diácono por meio de sua ordenação sacramental. Para tanto, analisa a noção de diaconia como fundamento do ser Igreja, considerando a atuação dos Sete helenistas, como os primeiros diáconos, além de ponderar sobre a diaconia da Palavra. Seu serviço à mesa da Palavra não deve ser visto como inferior ou como suplência, nem se deve esvaziar de sentido a celebração da Palavra por ele presidida. Antes, deve ser vista como uma diaconia, entendendo que nela é Cristo, que, na pessoa do diácono, como ministro ordenado, e na Palavra procla- mada em assembleia litúrgica, fala e opera Sua obra salvadora.Palavras-chave: Diácono. This work, reflecting on the mission of the permanent deacon as a servant of God’s Word table, intends to present the “theology of the Word table”, from the munus docendientrusted to the deacon through his sacramental ordination.
