Friedrich Nietzsche mora em Turim em maio-junho de 1888 e entre setembro do mesmo ano e o começo de janeiro de 1889. Apaixonado pela cidade, aprecia tudo nela – arquitetura, particularmente a Mole Antonelliana; urbanismo; tempo; comida; pessoas –, descrevendo em suas cartas uma sensação de bem-estar, bruscamente interrompida em janeiro. Leitor entusiasta de Ecce homo e da correspondência do filósofo, Giorgio de Chirico, dedica diversos quadros à sua relação com Turim. Sua visão, porém, não é sensorial, mas filosófica. Cria uma cidade quase deserta, com amplas praças, cercadas de arcadas, nas quais se erguem estátuas de Ariadne e de figuras militares e civis. Desse modo, infunde em sua Turim imaginária uma atmosfera metafísica, que a transforma num lugar melancólico e enigmático.||Friedrich Nietzsche dwells in Turin in may-june 1888 and between september of the same year and the beginning of january 1889. Infatuated by the city, he is fond of everything – architecture, especially the Mole Antonelliana; urbanism; weather; food; people – and describes in his letters a sense of wellness, suddenly interrupted in january. An enthusiastic reader of Ecce homo and of the letters of the philosopher, Giorgio de Chirico, dedicates some paintings to the relationship that Nietzsche keeps with the city. His vision, however, is not sensorial, but philosophical. He creates an almost empty city, with large squares, surrounded by arcades, and statues of Ariadne and of military and civilian figures. Thereby he instills in his imaginary Turin a metaphysical atmosphere and transfigurates it into a melancholic and enigmatic place.
