The Guarani Kaiowá Letter is part of a set of reflections that indigenous peoples have been elaborating about Brazilian indigenist legislation, considering the impact that this legislation imposes on their daily lives. Among the many modes of political action that indigenous subjects, peoples and organizations have been developing over the last 500 years, the Guarani Kaiowá Letter rewrites the legal text to reveal its intention: it returns to Brazilian Government and Justice an image of perpetrators of a genocide. Published in 2012, on the Conselho Indigenista Missionário (Cimi) website, the letter gained rapid repercussion. It was interpreted by society as a threat of "collective suicide". This interpretation disregards its terms. Far from expresses a giving up or a "collective suicide", the Letter implies a radical defense of life, expressed in the notion of tekoha.||A Carta Guarani Kaiowá faz parte de um conjunto de reflexões que os povos indígenas vêm elaborando sobre a legislação indigenista brasileira, dado o impacto que essa legislação impõe sobre suas vidas cotidianas. Entre os muitos modos de atuação política que sujeitos, povos e organizações indígenas vêm elaborando nos últimos 500 anos, a Carta Guarani Kaiowá reescreve o texto jurídico para desvelar sua intenção: ela devolve ao Governo e à Justiça do Brasil a imagem de si mesmos, como operadores do genocídio. Publicada em 2012 no site do Conselho Indigenista Missionário (Cimi), ganhou rápida repercussão, tendo sido interpretada por parte da sociedade como ameaça de "suicídio coletivo", interpretação que desconsidera seus termos. Longe de representar desistência da vida ou ameaça de "suicídio coletivo", a Carta implica uma defesa radical da vida, expressa na noção de tekoha.
