This review aims to analyze the book “As pioneiras do futebol pedem passagem: conhecer para reconhecer”, written by Silvana Goellner and Juliana Cabral. The work aims to rescue the stories of women who played football between the end of the ban on female football until the beginning of the 2000s, showing the difficulties and issues that these athletes faced. Combining biographical narratives and testimonials, the book adds to discussions about gender in sport and contributes to placing women as protagonists in the sport. Still, it is important to analyze the autobiographical aspect and how memory was rescued and discussed during the work, along with its contributions to the fields of research on gender and sports.||Esta reseña tiene como objetivo analizar el libro “As pioneiras do futebol pedem passagem: conhecer para reconhecer”, escrito por Silvana Goellner y Juliana Cabral. El trabajo pretende rescatar las historias de mujeres que jugaron al fútbol entre el fin de la prohibición del fútbol femenino hasta principios de la década de 2000, mostrando las dificultades y problemáticas que enfrentaron estas deportistas. Combinando narrativas biográficas y testimonios, el libro contribuye a los debates sobre el género en el deporte y contribuye a colocar a las mujeres como protagonistas del deporte. Aún así, es importante analizar el aspecto autobiográfico y cómo la memoria fue rescatada y discutida durante la obra, junto con sus aportes a los campos de investigación sobre género y deporte.
