The object of the research is the experience of reading in a digital environment, identifying the actors who impose the updating of reading protocols. From a qualitative perspective, the article aims to present the protocols of the digital book, recognizing the impacts on the experience itself. Admitting the nature of digital media as a driver of protocols that place materiality as the fundamental point of readerly transformations, the article points to the idea that the experiences of reading are rather a reflection of the centrality of the protocols of the book-system.||A pesquisa toma como objeto de investigação a experiência do ler em ambiente digital, identificando os atores que impõem a atualização dos protocolos de leitura. Sob perspectiva qualitativa, o artigo objetiva apresentar os protocolos do livro digital, reconhecendo os impactos sobre a experiência em si. Admitindo a natureza da mídia digital como propulsora de protocolos que colocam a materialidade como ponto fundamental das transformações leitoras, o artigo aponta para a ideia de que as experiências do ler são antes reflexo da centralidade dos protocolos do sistema-livro.
