This article brings together the results obtained from carrying out post- -doctoral research in the area of Literature, focusing on the field of Literary Studies. This initiative aimed to investigate the dynamics of intermedia reference, a concept by Irina Rajewsky that is present in texts whose plots are based on the layout of the WhatsApp and Instagram applications, published on Wattpad, a virtual literary self-publishing platform. Therefore, the findings obtained, in dialogue with the contributions offered by various scholars in the field, help us to understand the new configurations currently assumed by Literature and also the motivations that drive its production.||O presente artigo reúne os resultados obtidos a partir da realização de uma pesquisa pós-doutoral na área de Letras, com enfoque no campo dos Estudos Literários. Tal iniciativa objetivou investigar a dinâmica de referência intermidiática, um conceito de Irina Rajewsky que assinala presença em textos cujos enredos se baseiam no layout dos aplicativos WhatsApp e Instagram, publicados em Wattpad, plataforma virtual de autopublicação literária. Logo, os achados obtidos, em diálogo com os contributos ofertados por diversos estudiosos do ramo, auxiliam-nos a compreender as novas configurações atualmente assumidas pela Literatura e também as motivações que impulsionam sua produção.
